Early SA or SS Finial (restore?)

Hi Guys

Got this from The vet (1980’s) who liberated it he was an Army Medic and Surgical Assistant. (I have no doubt its 100%)
He was in the 2nd wave at Normandy.

Should I restore it or leave it as it is?

Nice piece. Certainly depends on personal preference. If it was mine, I'd put a few drops of Dawn dishwashing soap in warm water, lather it up, wipe it down, dry it well and be done. Leave it as it is! Besides it's not in bad shape!
