Can i have your thoughts on this flag please? what strikes me as odd is the swastika is brown. one end has been trimmed off the flag to tidy up a ragged torn edge i would have thought. In it's uncut state it would have measured about 56" long and it's 29" wide.
The flag was given to me way back in the 70s by a family friend, he said his Dad had taken it from a German building near the Dutch border in 1945. I had forgotten i had this and recently rediscovered it in a box of old motorbike magazines.

Construction looks fine to me. I know black can really fade to brown with enough exposure. Perhaps this one was displayed for many years after the war. I owned a tunic that was in an attic clothes rack that faced a window. The front side was faded heavily unfortunately and the reverse was not. Is both sides of equal "fade" or color?

Second look, the white thread at the edge seems out of place...

I think the color variation is due to facing from too much direct sunlight. A nice period flag.

Just time and sunlight exposure fading, is all. No problems.
