Hi Patrick, they are fakes that is why.
Cheers, Ade.
Good day.
Thanks for all the info.
Is there an easy way to tell if this is from WWII era or one of the flags made in the 70s? My father can't remember too well these days, but he thinks my grandfather gave it to him when he was about 13 which would put it shortly after the end of WWII.
Thanks,
Paul
The design of the above flag is poorly executed, and I too, do not believe it is an original !
Here is another one from the 70's - nicely done - but still a FAKE :

To answer the last post - there was an upswing in Third Reich collecting beginning in the late 60s/early 70s. As a youngster I began collecting at the time. There were several catalogs selling this kind of material - a lot of it reproduction. Japan was one of the countries with the industries that could make this stuff. I had one of these flags too but sold it after I decided I didn't want any fake stuff in my collection. The catalogs also sold legitimate items like German helmet shells with Norwegian liners that were repainted and decaled. NH
