    Hey Greg,

It is 3 3/8" H x 2 7/8" W at its tallest and widest points. Will you be at the Militaria Show in St. Paul, MN on April 21st or 22nd?

    Hi,

I have a pennant top the same exact size as you do. I was under the impression also that it was for a pennant but a guy on another forum told me it is too small for a pennant. I asked him to post a pic of the size that he thought it should be but he did not of yet. Do you have any period pics with one this size on a pennant? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    rocky

    Hey Rocky,

Here is a photo from my album. Little hard to see on the pennants and radiator hood ornament.

    Rossi,

thank you for the quick reply. I have one the same size as yours. I have it for a long time. I took some pics but they are not as sharp as yours. What book was the pictures in? Could I use the pic of the car & the eagle top measurements to post on the Wehrmact-Awards forum? Again thanks.

I think the book pic was from here on forum. Absolutely fine to use the picture.

Hey Kirk, thanks for the original post and also for the pic of the car. By chance can you upload a higher resolution copy of that photograph? I would very much like to see the hood ornament. I just picked up an NSKK eagle from John Telesmanich that was used either as a desk ornament or a hood ornament, and I don't know enough to distinguish between the two.

Here's a listing on "Uniforms of the NSDAP" showing a desk eagle (photos farther below): NSKK Desk Eagle

Here is the original listing for the item I purchased (photos below): NSKK Desk Ornament Eagle - Original German Militaria

The only discernable differences between my eagle and that on Jeff's site are the following:

    - The lower part of the wing (rounded on mine, vs. angled on Jeff's)
    - The base (fully tapered on mine vs. a slight ledge on Jeff's).

My question is whether this is enough of a distinction between the two to suggest a different use, or simply a function of the manufacturer. I'd appreciate any insight you (or others) can offer. TIA

Here are the photos of my eagle:
