Question about german battle flag?
Hello everyone, I found a german kriegs flag in the basement of a house I just purchased. I know nothing about ww2 memorabilia. I thought someone in this forum might have some information about it. It is marked "Kriegsflg.100x170" and has the letters "wft" in a little triangle. I have photos but I am not sure how to post them on here.
If this is posted in the wrong area I apologize.
Any hel would be greatly appreciated. I'm very curious about this flag. It is beautiful in a historical and creepy kind of way. Haha. Thank you!

Hey welcome to the forum, would love to see some photos of this flag. You would need to post the pictures of the flag in the "Non-Combat Uniforms and related insignia of the Third Reich" in the Flags, Banners and Pennants section. Good luck, cant wait to see it.

Is there a manufacture stamp anywhere on the flag? With my limited knowledge of the KM flags I think there should also be a manufacture stamp.

Ugh, sorry, I posted the pictures in here before I read your last message. There is no manufacturer stamp on the flag. The only lettering is what I included in the photo. It looks authentic to my novice eyes but what do I know? Haha. Is there a place I can take it to get this flag checked out?

There is many experts on here that can tell you if the flag is original. I do not want to tell you yes or no. They will be along soon, they might be able to direct to someone online or someone local that could assist you.

100% original.
Used by all branches of the German Armed Forces.
A KM (Kriegsmarine = Navy) flag would be marked with an Eagle with the letter M under it. Your flag was not a Naval one.
The maker was "WFT".
Cheers, Ade.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
I believe this flag is original. Please post a few more photos showing the construction of the ties and maybe a couple little more close up of the swastika or cross.
Ralph.
