    Hi gentlemen,

I take a new daylight photo, I apologize to you, the patch color is dark brown & the lettering green or light green.
I examine the patch cord & the sewing looks original ????.
Are fringes & rings absolutely on such a flag or could exeptions?
I entschuldige mich noch herr Saris, es war ein missverständnis die ersten fotos waren überlichtet.
Best regards from Alsace , France.
    Carfin.

No problem, no need to excuse. We all can make mistakes.
Me either. I have some knowledge.

And no there were not always frings, that is why in 1938 the
new orders were published, as according to that announcement
many flags were not according specifications.
Flags had to be controlled and send to concerns to fix them.
Flags had to be okay with the date July 1, 1939. The order, as
FO 2b 13723, was signed by the Chef des Führungshauptamtes.
I thought this was Max Jüttner.

If was done what was ordered, anyway the braid was replaced
    by a proper cord.

Wilhelm, what book or books are you getting your group lists from? I would like to look for them because I am really getting tired of asking people to look up standarte and brigades for me.

    Gunny,
There is no published book with all this info. It comes from period material or list compiled by the US during/after the war (take the SHAEF list for example). I also know you can find undated list in the National Archives on Microfilm rolls. This is how I obtained mine.

First of all: I never do use the SHAEF-report or lists compiled by the US, as I do consider this not reliable.
    There are too many mistakes.
Most of my information comes from old German documentation, mainly the Verordnungsblatt der Obersten SA-Führung
(for the many honor-names), but also for unit-numbers. Occasionally I do use the Führerbefehle (der Oberste SA-Führer),
as when I do want or need to check for units. In this last source promotions for the SA are mentioned.

    Wilhelm,
I was by no means saying that you use the SHAEF list. I know you use period material. I was merely stating that its another esource of in which people use.
    Best,
