    Interesting that the list indicates Bebra as the location of SA-Standarte 234. It's 31 kilometers distance from Phillipsthal. Apparently, its headquarters was moved there at some point. Here is a German site that confirms the unit was established in 1933 in Phillipsthal.

    I have a nice Sturmfahne from there as well. It has an old pattern Hessen-Nassau-Nord, yellow on blue Gausturm corner patch from Standarte 167 on it as well as three others from SA St. 234. It's interesting to note the same style embroidery of the lower two patches on the other flag as well.

    According to the lists from the Oberste SA-Führung: in the mid-1930's the location
    for 234 was Bebra; since early war it was Eschwege (according to various
    offcial address-lists - Anschriftenverzeichnis der SA from 1935, 1936, 1937 and
    1942). The flag with the two patches is anyway from about the mid-1930's and not
    the early 1930's.

    The traditions-patch with 167 was for Hofgeismar also Hessen according to the official
    address-lists! This flag with four patches will have a horizontal swastika and so is an early flag.
    In later years the swastika always had to be upon a tip. 33/234 is the last authorized patch;
    35/234 the first one and so the oldest unit to which this flag was granted.

    I do not quote from websites, but just from official papers.

    Just for information's sake, here's the quoted source of the official Hessian state LAGIS (Landesgeschichtliches Informationssystem Hessen) website information on SA-Standarte 234: Der Kreis Hersfeld : Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, published in 1935 by Der Landrat des Kreises Hersfeld. So, Hersfeld District: Past and Present, published by the District Council of Hersfeld District, 1935.

    After going back to this... in the above post it says...in German " At the Reichsparteitag 1933, Adolf Hitler's flag was named "Rotenburg" in ref. to 234? What exactly does that mean? What Hitler flag received the name Rotenburg? Or is it meaning that the 234 flags received the blood flags honor?
