Description: Hello all,
Here's your chance to pick up a super nice numbers matching Polizei long bayonet with stag horn grips and the original frog. This dress bayonet is of the variety without functional button and slot. What's interesting about the scabbard on this one are the markings on the upper fitting. It appears as though the sheath started life with an alternate number, which was cancelled out, and a new number was added above. This was absolutely period done and there is matching patina in the depressions of both sets of numbers. There is a hairline fracture to the lower cross guard but it is very small and does not even reach the outer edge of grip. Remnants of the original leather knot are still tied to the frog. This is a very scarce maker for Police bayonets.
