What kind of a tank is this? Is this a Cromwell?

Hi, the British Centaur CS IV tank was basically an early, under powered, version of the Cromwell fitted with a Howitzer.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi There,

I dived these twice last year - in addition to the tanks there is also at least one armoured bulldozer and quanities of shells laying around. A few years ago I found some brass webbing sliders next to one of the tanks, proberley from some webbing kit had long rotted away. When you look into the drivers hatch of one of the Centaurs a rather large conger has made his home there. The theory always was that they had fallen of a Landing Craft as there is no wreck nearby.

There is also a Valentine tank further inshore in Bracklesham bay.

Its amazing whats left, particularly in deeper water.

    Hi Ade,
I am trying to view the pic's but they will not load.I actually have a couple of Centaur track link's in my collection (rubber and steel version). They are rare Tank's here too.I think they were used for training by Australian troop's.

Thumbs up Re: British Tanks found in the English Channel

    Thank's Ade,
You seem to be the one to talk to regarding this site but excuse me for my ignorance there as you may own it How do i place a posting in the general listing and include photo's? I have a large collection of relic's as well as other field gear such as Mapcase's (some with story) and would love to share them with you without having to go into my profile (got to place a better photo there!).
Any info would be greatly appreciated.Keep up the good work
