Can anyone ID this Liberator part?

Article about: Supposedly this item came from a B-24 crash site in Scotland. It was sold as a pitot mount, but it doesn't look like one to me! The long part is an aerofoil shaped extrusion. Can't make out

    Supposedly this item came from a B-24 crash site in Scotland. It was sold as a pitot mount, but it doesn't look like one to me! The long part is an aerofoil shaped extrusion. Can't make out any stamps - it needs a good clean.
