Recovery team reports (9 a.m.) they will attempt to lift the airframe this afternoon. The salvage barge has left port and is en route to the wreck site.

    Good Luck everybody!
Thanks for the update Ned - let us hope that they receive the large slice of luck that will be required, fingers crossed!

    Regards,

    Carl

The BBC will broadcast from the salvage vessel around 3.30PM this afternoon. My man on a Li-Lo is reporting that the swell is starting to increase though....

Weather conditions are perfect. Unfortunately the anchor cable of the barge has wrapped itself around the propellor and they've gotta wait until slack tide to untangle it....Lift cancelled until 3.00 a.m. tomorrow morning assuming all goes well.........

    UPDATE.

The lift is back on! The cable has been freed and a diver is now attaching strops to the lifting frame as it's been decided to go for it in the short time window of slack tide left today. According to the Beeb it should be breaking the surface within the next 20 minutes to half hour. Fingers crossed, let's see......
