    Guys.

Have been out metal detecting and came across these three items. Two are self explanatory, Buffs badge and Royal Engineers. The third is a bit of a puzzle though and not even sure if it is military related.

It is a brass and enameled red cross made by J.A.Gaunt and son Ltd London who made all sorts of badges and buttons, some military. It is numbered and has at one time been fixed to something.

So my question is, has anyone any information what it is and if it was part of a buckle or badge?

    Cheers, Mark.

Friends Ambulance Unit cap badge, they were quakers and conscientious objectors but served as Ambulance men during the great war.

A pc from my collection showing the cap badge in wear.

I don't think the badge is that commonly seen.

Thanks for the information Jerry. I trawled through google images etc but no joy. Now I know I'll do a bit of research into the Friends Ambulance unit.

    Rgd's, Mark.
