    its a training round to teach new recruits how to use the gun without killing themselves for use with the mg34/42 k98 and all the other 7.92 guns good find

    Thanks Tom! I wasn't sure it's german. This leaves me wondering what the hell did they do with dummy rounds in a combat line ...misteries of metal detecting!

    I have around 50-60 of them found from old training field. It cleans up perfectly with toothpaste, it is made of brass.

    Very nice find Zeller...EX stands for Exercier (Patrone) - training round. P stands for Polte Werke, Magdeburg, Deutschland.
    In fact it's steel, copper-plated, dark-green painted...I have one in near-good cond.

    Interesting note to add, if you guys read Panzer commander by Hans Von Luck, he recounts 21st Panzer, 125 Panzer grenadiers, company (forget which one), II Battlion, Was out doing field training with Dummy rounds, while British paratroopers were coming down. If i remember correctly. night June 5/ 6th
