Amazing what turns up.
Now that's spooky - We did a dig locally (Lancashire, UK) and heard of a spinner on a farm nearby - so went to see it thinking it would be from a local high ground crash site and were amazed to find it was a heavily damaged Me109 spinner! It had been cut from the back plate in a very similar manner to the one here and was also damaged by what looked like an axe - also as the one you show - further research showed the previous owner of the house had left it when he moved out and he had connections in the London area, where it may have come from a now closed museum?
Interesting.
would that be Tony Graves,London air museum Nick.
Cool items!....
Hi Nick thats interesting as i sold these items to a guy in the UK so may be the same one
Sorry no idea of the name of the previous owner of the house - just he had some connection with either a museum or possibly film prop store near / in London - Can't be too may of these lying around! The new owner is hanging on to it for now as he is a commercial pilot and finds it interesting.
