They've actually had a team of archaeologists,diggers, geophysicists, and two mechanical excavators on the job.....The only find they got besides a load of water pipes and electrical cables that supplied the airport was.....A single piece of RAF issue Pierced Steel Planking (PSP) used to construct temporary runways.
Not a very good return on a £1million investment...Thus far.

If they are after a SPITFIRE there is one belly down on the runway here in the UK after the under carriage collapsed on landing a week ago!!!
For 1 million £'s, they Could have gone and dug out that Cave in the Aleutians.....

If it's truly possible, it get's worse.....The crated Spitfire alledgedly discovered by drilling a hole, and filmed by Mr.Cundall at Myitkania has actually turned out to be, quote, "A rubbish dump."
