    Hi all, I found the remains of this bayonet recently and cant decide what type it is or what country it is from the most puzzling thing is that the loop that would connect to the barrel of the rifle is on the opposite end of the slot where the bayonet would connect to the rifle any comments or suggestions would be very welcome!!!!

    Looks like a British model 1888 bayonet,for the Lee- metford rifle which had a different bayonet attachment.....Pete.

    Yep, Ptn 88 Bayonet for Lee Enfield, Lee Metford and Martini .303

    Normally the brass rivets would remain.
