From a war bird nut to Warbirdnut, thanks for the info but Texas is a little too far west of my route from Ontario to Florida.

    Cheers

I met a soviet defector in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1992. We discussed WW2 and the lend lease program. He denied the program because the Soviets lied to their public during and after the war about thier inability to support themselves while they were under attack with the Germans. He said that the Soviets supplied the world with weapons, epuipment, and food. He is under the belief that the Soviets single handedly saved the world from German and Japaneese oppression. He said the Soviets dropped the bombs over Japan, the Japs surrendered to them, likewise the Germans. I got a real charge when I saw the "canned pork". I wish I could have provided these photographs to him. However, he would have told me it would be U.S. propaganda to discredit the Soviets.
    Amazing, stuff you guys locate!

You have met a strange defector there. Most probably he just heard something about the history, but never learned it

@linton400 your "soviet defector" sounds like he hasn't even tried to read a history book! you should show him these pictures and explain the lend-lease program to him. If he loves Russia so much, he can go back there.
