    I would say the electrolyses or even some rainex rustbuster. I have only restored helmets so dont take my word as gospel.

    Man to get my hands on one of them! Fantastic

    Well mate you're welcome to one..there are 3 im going to hold onto even though i only want two coz need to swap the muzzle brake off one with a good brake and badly damaged barrel onto another with good barrel but destroyed brake...do you come to Kal at all?

    Oh and just checked my books, The Cannington Militaria swapmeet in at the cannington greyhounds in perth and its the 10th! not the 17th

    im curious does anyone know if removing rust from relics affects there value?

    Hey guys,no worries bout our excitable mate from ohio,sure was a great find and amazing that the lady was so generous as well and it is a shame that you cant take one as well mad idea as its always great to bring happiness to another collector..always makes my day!
    Have some info on electrolysis now(thanks again Jan) so will keep you all posted with pics as too the restoration progress... some of my collection has just come over the ditch so will post some more pics soon...take it easy guys!
