    Hopefully I posted this on the correct thread and the photos posted correctly. I found these items while detecting where it's known the Germans counter attacked the Americans in 1945. I'm guessing they're WW2 because I found many other artifacts in the general area.

    The top items are some sort of quick release fastener!...

    Yeah I thought they might be. They were in the ground about 1 1/2 ft apart same depth facing the same direction. I can't find anything on the web about them at all. The small bottom piece has to be turned about 30 degrees for it to disconnect.

    Hi top item looks like a opening catch from a German first aid box , These catches are also found on other German storage boxs i have seen

    The other item looks like an old cattle ear tag.

    You're right, it's a 'rocket' type ear tag for sheep or pigs.
