well I had been at the area before and never noticed this briefcase. Assuming it was empty I got a stick and dragged it towards me, damn thing was really heavy, here is the result and the contents. Should I go to the police?

Looks like 12 bore to me!...
It's not illegal to hold shotgun cartridges without a certificate under U.K. law. I suggest you dispose of them responsibly or bury them as they are good for nothing else.

Look like 12 bore cartridges - OK if you're into shooting clay pigeons.
They look like 12 gauge to me as well Gunny do I spy another bag in the water just to the right of the suit case looks to be a satchel

Beats my balaclava I found the other day along with a empty nike sports bag. lol
If you phone the gathers up they'll come and collect them that's what I did anyway.

Correct Gooney, they're a mixture of Game Bore, Winchester and an odd Eley 12 bore cartridges. As far as involving the Fed's, it's up to you, I personally wouldn't bother.by Gunny Hartmann

i have a few eley casings deactivated them myself
Why were they in the river? Maybe a little suspicious...
