The helmet its a littel rusty. Do you have any advice how to "cleen" it so some of the rust dissaeper without damaging the decal?

Don't clean it , it will ruin it.
It will not deteriorate in this condition if you keep it in a steady environment.

That I understand. But it was found on the ground in Germany in the late 40 s...
