The faker has put too many desirable aspects together-camoflage, wire and SS double decal. T he decals would have been applied before the helmet was painted with the camoflage pattern. The decals, if shown, would have been masked off during the painting. In the case of this helmet, the decals have been applied after the paint job. This helmet was made to impress someone with basic and not advanced knowledge. I agree with all of the previous comments.
Spot on Bob !! The wire is also clearly a recent addition made to titilate the obsession of collectors with bits of wire stuck on helmets for which people seem to want to pay more money !!

The whole helmet is a made-up piece, with the shell
being the only thing that may be original.........

    ???
If you knew it was a repro why are you asking for opinions if its real? On the hope it might be real? Sorry I don't get it. If this were real - an M40 Double Decal Normandy Chickenwire camo in near mint condition it would fetch $35,000 not $350 and it would sell in 5 seconds and be THE single most sought after helmet by collectors on the planet.
    ???
