Just noticed too the pic of the split pin. Looks re-bent IMO. Both prongs look kinked from being removed. When an ET SS decal has to be scrutinized such as this one, it's usually bad. Glad you showed it here first

Is it common to find bright metal edges like these in period pieces? I really don't know as I am just beginning this journey.
