Well thats a real howler, how on earth could you say that was a true period painted SS lid, notwithstanding the liner pin holes are painted over but there is no proper photo of the true colour of the helmet apart from interior and top,the others look more like sand, plus i cant see any decal there at all, some of these "new" classifieds are beginning to become a joke and i dont think they realise that we have some of the best collectors of these items out there
I've deleted the ad now.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
I may paint a helmet in wet plaster of paris, put it out in the back yard for a few months and then get back to you with a result ( I figger it will be close )
Doug, shitcan away!
( anyone ask why the photos date to SEVEN YEARS ago????????????? )
" I'm putting off procrastination until next week "
Seems odd he also didn't show the COA from Kelly Hicks of the helmet
Lol - the seller said he could get one if it was needed.........!
Regards,
Steve.
Thanks Adrian for sending that for sale thread to helmet purgatory.
I can't take credit, cricketchris and I were discussing it briefly last night after he pointed it out, I just thought a bit of community opinion would be valuable. Good work mods!
And thanks for adding pics to the thread, I forgot
i might be late on this one but what makes this shell ss. am i missing somthing. looks like to me the shell been but up side down in the dirt and left for a little bit, because to me it looks like water came through one of the vent holes and puddled in the middle of the shell.
