Hi John,

It's quite alright to see DD SS M40's. The party shields were Pochers and field applied. Only thing is the party decal on this one is bogus and most likely the runic shield, as well.

For me, the decals show signs of obvious artificial aging. The wear to the decals is not natural.

Party decal is a known fake. The runic shield pics are not 100% satisfactory. As an SS helmet collector, I would pass if I had to make a call based on these photos. Good, period applied SS decals have to be one-lookers for me and this is not one of them. I would wait for something nice to come along.
