It has been offered to me through the forum member Max Hansen. As far as i been told he does not have this helmet himself. The guy selling it says it "all original". That is what Max wrote me. One thing i know about SS items is......... Research & Post.

Absolutely. It has not been the best of items posted so far.
Personally i would research any item before presenting it to a potential customer. Forum member or not. It's either bad behavior, laziness or lack of caring for ones reputation and other peoples money.
They did have SD there working in an obscure Einsatzkommando, I have a tan SS M40 double decal camo directly from Tripoli the Britsh vet inscribed his unit and date, preceding the SD leaving by a few days! Also the SS was in Italy and woe tan combat helmets. I have a mustard colored former police redecaled to SS double decal M40 named and researched to a former SS/SD who later was assigned to the Geheimestaatspolezei ( Gestapo ), also in Italy!
I will post them shortly!
Don't know if they came out of Egypt Doug. So far i read that a lot of DAK helmets in brand new condition started to penetrate into the market in the 1980's. They were all made up of original parts. There should be some differences in opinions among the more experienced collectors about them. They seemed to just come out of nowhere.
