DAK SS. Any opinions?

Don't know if they came out of Egypt Doug. So far i read that a lot of DAK helmets in brand new condition started to penetrate into the market in the 1980's. They were all made up of original parts. There should be some differences in opinions among the more experienced collectors about them. They seemed to just come out of nowhere.

I believe they came from Czechoslovika and were never delivered to any country.
The only other tropical tan colored helmets came from Italy.

They did have SD there working in an obscure Einsatzkommando, I have a tan SS M40 double decal camo directly from Tripoli the Britsh vet inscribed his unit and date, preceding the SD leaving by a few days!

Is that the tan reverse decal SS helmet? I can't wait to see it again, I held it in hand in the mid 90's, and dreamt about it for years thereafter. Jim G.

Yup! I had it the name / rank researched, amazing helmet Jim!

Mmmm not good, maybe he believed it was correct, but that's a big call on this type of lid!!!

We can discuss Mr Hansen handling of this. Not a problem. It's my thread.

He never said to me it was original on PM. He told me the seller said it was original. He asked me for my email to send pics. I told him it would be easier for him just to post them on forum. He did not liked that idea and i sent him my email and posted the pics myself.

Behind the curtains he told the admins when asked, that he never actually offered me the helmet for sale. That is a out right lie. I proved this beyond any doubt with the (always) saved correspondence.

What the hell is going on in here lately??? Not you, Lars as you were almost the victim here.

Lars, if I may ask, how much were they asking for this so called SS helmet? And thanks for posting this here first, Lars, you did the right thing.
