Jim, There is a counterfiet version of the black and white emblem {left side} on a helmet for sale. It has smaller diameter and has orange ink! That looks suspicious. Maybe contemporary. Can't seem to post it here.

Is the duckbill an older helmet than the himmler style?

The Himmler style helmets was produced since the early 30thy. In the Bear book you find the information, that the duck bill helmets was produced since the early 40thy.
