I think the top one is a fake, the decal has a round bottom; bad, in my opinion.

I agree with Chris. The round bottom decal gives it away immediately. I am a country mile away from being a lid expert, so I shall leave further comment to my esteemed colleagues, and enjoy the learning experience in the process. Gotta love this forum!

They both have bad decals.
I also think the shell are post-war Norvegian RE.

I missed out on the round bottom decal, but the chin strap i did not like. Was i wrong in that judgement?
