Here is another example of why eMedals is lacking in the weeding out department and I have seen many examples like this on your site.
This is a fake wire camo from 100 miles away. sold on your site.
Attachment 599292
Attachment 599291
Attachment 599290
Attachment 599293
Other bad eggs on your site:
The double decal M40 Heer has a fake tricolor. The wire M42 is a fake wire. The M42 camo certainly appears to have issues with the camo from the photos. The M42 Croatian Luftwaffe is a fake Croatian decal. The M38 green camo is a fake camo.
These are just a few I had a quick look at. Most appear to have been sold. All customers should be contacted for refunds.
Had a quick look at the SS Insignia section, you have a common Heer Panzer skull misidentified as an SS Cap skull. I have seen a few SS items you've posted that were reproductions.
Not trying to give you a hard time but simply backing up what I said earlier today and have seen on your site by way of the poor German helmets sold or for sale there. You will be mark for those that wish to pawn fake helmets via your site without much greater due diligence by your staff.
Cheers
Doug

Hi Doug , I sadly have to agree with you on this one too , the colours are way off from what you would expect from a period cammo. As tough as these cammo's can be to call , this one really does stand out as being an aged fake, it just looks all wrong from top to bottom. In fact I have never seen a period cammo with that bright "orange"colour and doubt I will. Leon.

Hi, Doug,
Hope all is well.
Might I ask which of Kelly's books the bad SS is in so I can mark it appropriately? Thanks!

SS Steel V1 and 2. I think it's in SS Helmets as well but don't have that handy at the moment.

E medals should change its name to Fake peddles.com One apology in this forum doesn't erase years of mismanagement. They have clearly been taken over by fakers due to their lack of expertise in the matter and a lot of their customers will get the news sooner or later when they join a specialised forum. Maybe that is not even their mission statement to sell quality militaria but just to sell sell sell.

Leon, the helmets that are bad are the obvious ones, and ones that are always sold as fakes and rare so require an extra careful analysis, DD M40's, SS M34, Croatian anything, FJ camos, wires. These require a critical eye and certainty before posting for sale. Sadly that is not being done at eMedals. Hopefully this exposure will allow them to tighten the noose around the fakes sent their way.
What's bothersome to me is the camo's I saw as bad are obvious fakes, the tricolor on the M40 is a known fake, the Croatian decal another obvious fake, the wires, obvious. Not near enough care and attention is being performed.
Michael you might want to check out the thread on GHW2, another lost customer of eMedals relating stories of fake helmets being smugly sold by your company at Canadian shows. Not my story, but something you might have an interest in also addressing.
Cheers

Doug,
Thank you for the comments. As I mentioned, we are adamant not to sell fakes and to respect the collecting community. I will personally review the items you have mentioned. I do know the sources of many of these helmets, some of them being Canadian veterans local to our offices. Nonetheless, I will indeed give a second review and take appropriate action for both the seller and the buyer. Please feel free to contact me directly using my email address posted in the "About Us" section of our website. I will always listen to fellow collectors, because as we know, collecting militaria is a community experience.
Best,
Michael
