Is this a fake SS M-42?

Hello everyone, I have had this for a while and it is one of the first helmets I ever purchased. I basically didnt have much experience at the time nor this forum for guidance, I mean who collects German helmets and who would waste their time faking them ? those were my thoughts then, silly me, and these days I would consider this a certain fake, however just to be sure I would appreciate it if you all could give it an evaluation. The stamps inside read ck 66, 2970, not too sure about the ck part.

Its a fake NS/SE or "champagne" decal.
