Daggervez, with SS decals there is a clear pattern of decal to shell relationship and an ET decal on an hkp M42 would be unusual but not out of the question. That said ET decals are found on EF M42's. So while it's outside the norm it is not impossible.

Your asking questions but still we need photos. Sure the lot number exists, the SS decal in the one thread is fake and the auction house helmet is a no decal. Where your dealer bought it is really irrelevant. Many a fake SS helmet is passed off at militaria shows.

Please provide photos as your next step in the thread thank you.

Saw him today and guess what? He wouldn't let me take photos of it for absurd reasons! I took a closer look at the decal and noticed the faint inkjet lines around the runes.

It wasnt an absurd reason, he knew it was a fake.
