    Hello,
Here is an helmet left in Normandy.
I should be pleased to get your comments about shape, interest and value.
An idiot put some green painting on the top. Maybe to stop or hide incipient rust?
Inside, backwards, a name is engraved : "SS Strm Borchardt".
    Best regards from Normandy.

Hi and welcome to the forum, we will really need nice clear close up images of the decal to determine if this is a genuine SS helmet. As it stands all I can tell you is that it is an M40 model. Leon.

    Hello,

For a helmet like this you need clear & crisp photos, especially a close-up shot of the decal. If it does turn out to be a good SS, then you move up to the next step & do a name search. Good Luck.

    Regards
    Samir

Nice quote from Hemingway ! I use this one from Sacha Guitry, one of the greatest French author of theater : "Ce qui ne me passionne pas m'ennuie" ("What does not fascinate me bores me")

I think likely a good Quist M40 SS. Could we have the lot number and factory/size info too?

I did not see the number before you told. And, even now, they are hard to see. Could it be something like L385 ?

Hi Korwin, those are better pictures, I would like to see some in natural light but I would "stick my neck out" and agree with Kradspam that this looks like it may be a good original QUIST SS M40. Leon.

Looks to be a good Q in real poor condition however.
