An M42 never has 2 decals ?? Think you should do a bit of research before you buy any more helmets. Just some helpful advice

Firefox - Early M42 Police helmets did have 2 decals. David (real steel) has been studying helmets for over 40yrs so definitely knows his stuff.

Hello the pictures aren't good. But how can it have a bullet hole in the helmet with a a mostly intact liner that if original (liner) would be bloodstained. I d proceed with caution. Kindest regards.

Hi Brian, it would not be the first helmet that recieved a bullet during a battle whilst not being worn. That said, it could well have been put on a fence post and shot at for "target practice" after the war as well! As for the helmet itself, we really need a good close up picture of the decal area on both sides. Leon.

The photos make it hard to really say something about it being SS or other , the SS decal seems completely gone. Or did someone at one point had a repro decal there and it was removed again ? An Original decal would still be visible on this shell.
My advice is not to pursue it. (based on these photos)
