Haha, quite right, oh and I have just noticed through the haze that the title of the thread states TWO HELMETS!!! That certainly explains the anomaly!! I like the second lid once the decals are removed, but the first I would not give a second look. Leon.

The possible problem is, depending how long the repro decals have been applied, & any adhesive or lacquer used, there will be evidence of something remaining. Normally it spoils the patina when they are removed, showing signs of post war tampering in the decal area.
