M 42 SS helmed

Hi all,

I know that this is dangerous stuff, but I found this helmed on an atttic.
I think it is an E?66 and lot number 1532 but I can't see it all to good.

What is your opinion about the helmed?

My opinion formed through observation of poor pictures
A total fabrication. Aged repro liner, repainted shell, repro strap, bad ET decal. Nothing good here. Of course, again, just my opinion

When you have time...there is a sub forum here on "fake decals" including assortments of SS real & fake. Take a look , some good examples posted. There is also a "helmet decal" gallery sub forum

David I believe some sub-forums are only available to paying members, I'm not sure if that includes the helmet section.
Considering the amount of money our fine membership just saved you, maybe you should become a paying member.

I would throw this one away immediately , it has been so chemically enhanced I fear your may loose your hair and fingernails soon.

Chris - if I remember correctly I think the helmet and ss threads are available to non paying members also. That said of course the USD25 is well worth paying.

Interesting the circular scratches on the decal - that could only be produced artificially.
