    decals are fake imo but the rest of the helmet looks okay

    I would be tempted to strip it back to the original colour, at least that way you will have a good M17 out of it

    It it called crushed glass because of the appearance of the decal, or does it actually have something to do with the construction?

    The appearance of the fake ground pulver gives it a look similar to finely crushed glass, hence its nickname. Fine sharp edges of the runes and where the pulver meets with the ink of the runes also gives this one away.
