As I understand it, M40 Quist did not have SS double decal?

Yes they did in fact from my database roughly 1 in 10 Q M40 SS is roughly a double decal with about 30-40% of those being single decal with field applied Pocher party decals. But they did not ever use anything but Q factory runic and party decals which is another failure of this helmet. Please read the SS runic decal thread pinned above for further information.

While Brian's self published lot number book is a nice compendium it is not the final authority on lot numbers and is also a snapshot of data he had when he published it of course. Numbered Q lot numbers have many double decal SS and DN has a few. S has a field applied.

Great War relics has some nice helmet relics. If they are original or not I dont know. But they look O.K.
