Good condition that lid.
Judging from the uniforms and helmets, they must indeed have been somewhat smaller back then.

It would be kind of cool to see a 74 SS like the Heer one featured in Ken's book.
That would be cool. The largest I've seen are 70's, and only a handful, like 5 perhaps? I own perhaps one of the rarest SS helmets being a size 70 SS but a double runic! It's a bathtub, I cannot even fathom a 74 how huge the man would have been!

Perhaps Russians were fed better than the Germans were. The one Ken has belonged to a Hiwi I think.

Here's one of my SS lids , ET 62 (my favorite size , I can't explain why really)

Nice lid, 62s seem so small these days. I tried to put one of my 62s on and it looked like a pimple on top of my head!
