M42 Single Decal SS - ckl66 - Lot # 3029
I picked this one up from Jeremy S. several years ago. It had some post War kid's art on the left behind the vent that was removed. Whoever did that did a very good job, as I can't see any trace of it. Otherwise it is a complete, combat worn example that to me has a lot of appeal. The ET runes have the look of a double strike, and were applied canted towards the rear, as is seen on many ckl SS pots. The 1940 dated strap appears to be original to the piece. Hope you like it. Thanks guys. Regarding the extremely canted decal, that was a big reason why I bought it. I think it was an early Monday morning application by a laborer who had a bit too much schnapps Sunday night. Jim G.by Walkwolf
