    Welcome to the forum.

I expect the helmet guys will be along soon to help out but I suspect you have a genuine helmet with a possible replaced liner and fake decals. You won't find the Third Reich tricolour with SS runes.

Is the inside of the dome a silver colour?

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Adrian is spot on the money I suspect. You wont find that decal arrangement on any lid, as the SS decal should be on the side of the helmet that the tricolour is. Either way the decal is a post war made copy. The shell looks to be the only real thing here.

Some early LAH helmets had runes and the tricolour, but not on an M35; always transitionals. Doug has at least one like this.

This lid's decals are repros, the liner is original German but post war reissued to Norway and dyed brown / red.

Actually you will find SS runes and a tricolor, but not in decal form, they would be hand rendered on very early LAH black painted transitional helmets. They are rare in the extreme however as they were repainted and decaled in 1935, then reissued as combat helmets in 1939 or melted down and recycled. There are period photographs to support this.

This however is not authentic and are cheap reproductions from long ago.

    Thanks for the feedback
This helmet has been in my family for a long time I don't really. Care if it genuine or not but have very fond memories of my father wearing it for charity runs and he use to ride his 63 bantam round with it on his head I will always own it

    Hi Mashie,

    Welcome aboard!

As u already know the decals/liner are postwar reproduction, but I see it still has sentimental value, which I can understand.
