interesting; WAFers held the same view then started questioning themselves saying things like it's likely a real ET thats been scrubbed, and it took a straight-on pic to know for sure. anyway thanks!

Interesting: imho this cannot be a scrubbed decal: the bottom of both runes is not correct for an ET, and I see quite clear a round bottom.
Can you put in the WAF thread link please? I'm curious..

the scrubbing gives the impression that it is the round bottom fake.
It's an Original though but not really very interesting to buy because of its condition.

Take a look at the WAF link provided, he's commented on there. We already have Frank's verdict here... I don't think much else is needed really.

Good M40 SS, post war paint removed thus leaving the decal looking a bit off.

!!! my mistake also on WAF - sorry slados28 I was unaware this helm had been sold after the guy told me he planned to keep it. (which is after WAFers pretty much thumbed it down.) thanks for the link; wow things move real quik sometimes...

Maybe this is just me beating the proverbial dead horse here but I just heard back from Rask and this helmet is still in his possession and it's been up on his site for at least a couple of years --- seems someone has been trying to pull a fast one on someone here... such a strange thread.
