Article about: This is easy. A post war painted relic helmet. Helmets with rust holes and corrosion does not have much paint left. Example

    Can we get pics of the whole helmet please, so we can see the decal in context. Pics of the inside would be great to.

    Looks very rounded at the bottom but as stated more photos are needed !!

    My opinion is a 'tarted up' dug relic helmet. With steel as corroded as this one is around the dome and rim, you would see paint and decal remains to a much lesser degree than these - the paint left would be only flecks and patches and a decal remnant would be the same.

    Live and learn, I was caught once with a similar fake decal. Hope you didn't shell out too much and if you did, see if you can return it.

    The funny thing is that the white paint and red cross must be for aerial identification only as only the Luftwaffe could see it on top of the lid !! As Dan says this looks like a tarted up relic !!

    This would be a great helmet, even in relic condition, but I'm afraid I don't have much hope for it.

    Got to agree with everyone else here, would be an excellent helmet if real but I would agree its nothing more than a pimped relic.
