Real SS or postwar fake?

Decal is all but gone on EF64 shell with halfway decent liner, trying to figure out is it is was real or not. Could be just a clever fake? I look forward to hearing opinions.

Not that clever. It's been sanded and they hit the airvent by mistake. Not one I would pursue

Sure looks to me like artificial ageing...and a poor attempt at that!

Thank you very much for your help. Is there any way to tell if the decal is a fake? I don't have helmet in my possession to post more pictures. I only asked for this one picture specifically because if the decal is no good then of course I would not be interested in the helmet.

You would need pics of the whole helmet, liner and shell markings etc to properly make a call. It has the look of an artificially aged decal though at this point, there is so little left of it and the angle is not centered it's difficult to compare it to an original EF.

Absolutly agree, much better pictures are needed of the whole helmet and good straight on shots of the decal please. I am not keen on this one as it stands at the moment as it does appear sanded down. Leon.

Even with the little info, and angle pic, you can still tell it's bad. Leave this one alone my friend.
