    Default Rock solid SS M40

Thought I would post this one, not for opinions, but to show, as this one has rock solid provenance. Standard M40 single decal (which some berk had varnished) Named on the rim, but here's the best bit. Picked up after the battle for Carpiquet Airfield in July 1944 and brought back from an officer of HQ 1st Corps who got it from another officer (the one who picked it up) who was an armaments intelligence officer. The officer of the 1st Corps was the one who sold it to me papers included. Carpiquet Airfield was defended, at that time by the 12th SS Div Researched too!
    PZ Grenadier Hopfmann,
    Machine Gunner
    1st Battalion 26 Rgt
12th SS Panzer Div “Hitler Youth"
Killed July 1944, whilst defending Carpiquet Airfield, Normandy

It don't get better than that.................. Except............. I sold it........and wished I never had!
    Enjoy

    Ronnie,
You know me mate everythings for sale at the right price Remember the dagger?

Made the same mistake with the lid, it was always going to be for the collection, until someone wanted to see it, and tempted me!

One of the reasons that boxed RZM will never be for sale. I also sold a partial ground Rohm SS dagger, bet you never knew that either!
