Looks like a good one to me Jersey but the chinstrap is a modern reproduction.
Straight on shots of the decal is important. It has potential, but straight on shots may confirm its a good one.
I will take it off your hands D when i am over ! haha

Just out of curiosity, was there much left over from the SS CC on Alderney after the occupation ???
Literally nothing remained at the wars end. The SS moved out before June 44, so very little trace of the SS being there was left behind in the way of kit.
Hi,this looks a great ET SS decal to me,the wear on the helmet looks consistant with the decal and liner, the runes finish just below the soft shield break and the bottom break has a point.I like it very much, lets hope Doug does too!! Leon.
Schwerpunkt,
Yes your correct, its a modern repro chinstrap. I had been helping a friend and he wanted to take some photos of the helmet hung up by the strap and not being to keen on damaging the original I took it off for the pictures and took some of my own at the same time. Since your post the situation has changed and alles in ordnung!!
Nice ET SS M40. What SS unit(s) went to the Channel Islands or was this a continental pick up?
Speaking of the Channel islands, if I recall James Brady and another Irish fella were the only two Irishman to join the SS. If i'm not mistaken the Channel islands is where they first joined. Just a thought, sorry for going off topic gents.
