Hi Guys,
Can someone give me his opinion about this helmet, it has been found in a barn in the Ardennes a few years ago, it has a double camouflage as one can see, it's never been cleaned, I bought it in the condition as it still is.

The marked rank "Gefr." at the inside rim I think it's "Gefreiter" (private). It's a rank of Army and Airforce, not SS. For SS the adequate rank was called "SS Sturmmann".

In memory of my father who was in K-Einsatz, combat engagement, with the RAD in the Alps in 1945, of my grandfather who was with the IR 87 during campaign in France in 1940 and of my grand-uncle who served in the Gardegrenadierregiment Nr. 3 "Königin Elisabeth" and who was killed in action at Craonne, Chemin des Dames in France in 1917
Someone's project - compare the inside to the outside.
Stop there and think. ...... how can that be?
