Bad decals and looks like contrived wear !1

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
The liner, and chinstrap look dodgy to me.the camo as far as i know ,not many ss helmets where camoed as they had plenty of helmet covers to do that for them,lv
Looks like this was 'camo painted' before the decals went on
Sorry, I did not get past the shield shape on this lousy fake example.

Thank you everyone for your input..I got burned on this one BIG TIME!! I JUST started to get back into collecting WWII german stuff too..I use to have a collection back in the day when I was a teenager (80s) and I bought all my stuff from VETS and I never questioned it, because i knew that it was the real deal..Now 25 plus years later I guess I kind of went into it again with the same mentality..EXPENSIVE mistake..You live and learn..
Damn, I hate to see guys ripped off like this! I think we all have been "soaked" once or twice, maybe more, but it is never easy to take. Sorry for your loss. Any chance on being able to return it?
Oh, never mind about the return part. i just read that you purchased it 25 years ago.
damn!
