What's with the number "2"? I never understood that. I know it's a fantasy decal, but what was the reason behind it? Also, I have seen an identical decal that had the same number "2" and then the seller scratched off the no.2 to deceive buyers.

My guess is that the fakers are trying to copy to a helmet what they see on pre-war SS collar tabs.by SSamir

Yes that is exactly what they are attempting here Samir, a fantasy decal belonging to the SS 2 Regiment which was Germania. SS 1 was Deutschland, SS 3 was Der Fuhrer, all SS VT Regiments.

Quite correct guys this one was circulating in the UK approx 10 years ago advertised as a Germania Helmet !!
