The decal seems to be a round bottom fake with the tip
purposely scratched to hide the obvious.

Shame. Hope he can return it for a refund.........

I noticed that too,Steve...apparently, the round bottom is one thing that the fakers have clued themselves in on. So now you see So many decals with "just a bit of a chip".....On the Bottom.....(Just a coincidence, of course...)

It happens Sandgroper, im trying to learn all the fakes as well...bloody hard when our Vets never faced the SS on many occasions to bring back any SS gear...So we dont have any legit stuff to compare 'hands on' ...lucky we have the help here...

An easy statement to make after Doug B, the resident expert on these things, gives a negative opinion. I have seen a lot of SS helmets over the years and must say, this is a pretty good fake for the inexperienced eye.
